The Oasis by Don Carlos Resort

Adults only. I usually make time for the spa on vacation before heading out to tan on the beach, and did the same this trip. The design is beautiful and modern, and it was definitely worth a visit. I enjoyed my favorite steam saunas and contrast baths and pools. There were other options too, so I think people can find an experience that suits them.

Sam’s kindness and attentiveness made our stay especially memorable. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, and her restaurant and attraction suggestions were spot on. The hotel itself was top-notch, with comfortable rooms, great amenities, and an excellent location. We had a wonderful stay, and I’d happily recommend it. Looking forward to visiting again.

The spa was great, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout. They’ve clearly trained the team well, and the service was flawless. The hotel was recommended by a friend, but the pictures gave us the wrong impression. The building is old, and although much of it has been remodeled, it still feels dated. We tried the restaurants and a lot of different menu items, but the food was simply bad. Our mattress was higher on one side, so rolling over at night felt like we might fall off. Weekend events brought loud music that carried into the rooms. I was disappointed by the area as a whole too. It felt worn down and in poor shape, more like a poor country than a modern European one. Maybe Covid was a factor.

The girls Danielle and Frani were so helpful when we asked at short notice about a mini birthday party. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the beautiful junior suite, which was over 900 square feet, with a breathtaking terrace view over the hills of Malaga. It really felt like an oasis. Breakfast was lovely and healthy, and there were more options if you asked. The spa facilities were amazing and complimentary. Sam at the front desk was lovely too, and suggested places to visit and eat. We also got to see what the deluxe villas look like, especially for families. We enjoyed the Peacock Bar, Bahia restaurant, and the beach club, which had the best frozen daiquiris ever. It was all so lovely, and I’d definitely recommend it.
