Hotel LIVVO Los Calderones

The location is the one drawback, but the hotel offers a shuttle to the playa and taxis can get you anywhere. Inside, everything was clean, tidy and cosy, and breakfast had lots of good-quality choices. Juan welcomed us with a lovely smile, and everyone was friendly, helpful and professional. We really felt spoiled. I've stayed in lots of different hotels, and this is one of the best. We had an amazing, relaxing holiday.

The rooms are duplex apartments, each with its own balcony and garden area, and ours was lovely and clean. It's a quiet, secluded-feeling place, but Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles are easy to reach. The pool area was great, and the staff were especially friendly, helpful and efficient. Crisa, Johan, Marjory and Samuel are all a credit to the hotel. There was a good selection of food and always something we could eat, including a nice breakfast buffet. The bar was nice too, and you can order lunch food. I'd definitely recommend it for a relaxing holiday. Excellent.

The buffet food was good quality, though it wasn't always hot. Rooms are duplex style and spacious enough for two, and the pool area was good. A lovely, relaxing hotel, with very friendly staff.

There's a taxi rank about 30 seconds from the door, the bus 32 stop across the street goes to Porta Mogan for 4.15 euros, and a taxi to Yumbo Centre costs 6-7 euros. We walked back from the lighthouse and dunes. I came from London with my two best friends to celebrate my big birthday. I'd visited Las Palomas in January 2025 and fallen in love with Gran Canaria's low-key feel. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in during 20 years of travelling. The staff are so friendly and greet you in the morning, and the bubbly at check-in was great. The layout was very clean, with awesome tropical foliage. The pool is large with plenty of loungers, and I loved the balcony with its lap pool, proper gym, Jacuzzi and more loungers. Breakfast was flawless with lots to choose from, and dinner was good too. There's a proper lunch cafe canteen by the pool. It's a quiet spot, especially for solo travellers, and I'll definitely return. The small downside is the room safe costs 2 euros per day. Wi-Fi was faultless.
