The salad was so well prepared and dressed that we didn't need anything else alongside it. My mixed fried fish had a lovely crisp coating and a nice variety, which was great since this dish can sometimes be too heavy on squid. My wife’s tuna fillet with caper sauce was superb too. A brilliant lunch, and very good value.

The biggest disappointment was how they handled a polite complaint. They wouldn't acknowledge there was a problem, saying “it is what it is” and “this is how it's going to be from now on.” The location is great, and they'd really improved in recent years, which made this a shame. The website menu wasn't available; instead, we were read a very basic menu with no prices. No fish fillets, steaks or desserts, and the burger came with a pile of crisps. They should have made that clear when we booked.

Other tables seemed fed up too, and some people left without dessert because service was so slow. We'd already waited an hour and a half without getting our main course. We came because the ratings were so good, but I honestly don't know where they came from. The fish we ordered for our child had batter that looked like frozen fish, and the Iberian ham starter looked as if it had been cut ages ago. The views are nice, but I wouldn't bother.

The terraces have amazing views, and there's a varied menu with some vegetarian and vegan choices. We've been several times now and find the place really special, with friendly staff. It's a lovely spot to stay, or just drop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
