Albergue Pereiro

Our group of three paid €50 for a room with two bunk beds, which came to €16.67 per person. The checkout time is 10am, later than at other hostels we've stayed in. We found it easily on the main street, though it's a little farther away than the other hostels we used. There wasn't much sunlight for drying clothes in the hostel area. The staff member was really nice and helped us with a hairdryer, which kept my rating from dropping to two stars. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, and induction hob, which could be useful if you want to cook. The room gets noise from next door, and it was too cold at night. Like many hostels, the heater turns off around or after midnight, and the blanket wasn't warm enough. Two of us were really cold. The bathroom light switches off automatically, which saves energy, but it went dark more than four times while I was showering. That was very inconvenient, and I hope they fix it for future guests. No soap or towel was provided, though perhaps private rooms have them.

The calm, peaceful atmosphere was just what I needed after a long day on the Camino. The dorms were clean and comfortable, and the showers and toilets were nice. We had a wonderful stay yesterday, and the girl at reception was very welcoming. Highly recommended!

We had a spacious double room upstairs, and for the low price it was a really nice room. The service was the best part. I left something behind, and before I'd even noticed, the receptionist called me. She helped arrange pickup by one of the bag transport companies, putting the item in a bag and making a tag for it. We spoke several times that evening, and she was friendly and helpful every time. Big thanks again! I'd recommend this albuergue to any pilgrim passing through Melide.

Lorena at reception made my day. She was pleasant, professional, extremely informative, and attentive. The albergue was clean, with great showers and a nice, clean kitchen. The price and location were great too. I'm very grateful, Lorena. You deserve a good raise!
