Hotel Anfora

Hotel Anfora is right in central Melilla, and the location is very good, close to everything. There’s no hotel parking, but you can find a spot nearby if you look around. The reception employees were very nice and friendly. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The hotel is small and very old, the rooms are small and smelly, and the old furniture makes them feel unwelcoming. We booked at the last minute because we didn’t have many options. It had surprisingly high ratings on an online booking site, which has made me less trusting of those ratings. I’d had a similar problem before with an apartment booked through Booking: when I arrived there was no apartment, and I got no refund. We were in a room at the back on the first floor, with a bar behind the hotel that starts up after 23:00 and stays open until morning. People were very noisy. I woke up twice, at 3 and 4 AM, and couldn’t get back to sleep.

The location is good, but that doesn’t make up for the room. It’s old and below basic, and the balcony has no furniture. The price may seem okay, but it’s still too much when you can see all of melilla on foot. I’d only stay one night if I had to.

Great value and a really good location. Everyone who works here is very kind. I had a lovely stay.

The hotel is a little old and could use some renovation, but everything else was perfect. They clean the room every day, and can help with a late check-in if you let them know. My room had a terrasa, and I loved the view from there. I felt safe the whole time I was here, and my things did too.
