Parador De Melilla

The breakfast staff were lovely, and the coffee was amazing, proper brewed coffee rather than something from a powder machine. Reception felt a bit distant and slow, though. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel is very nice and clean for the price.

We had a lovely four-night stay, with a large, comfortable room and a big balcony at this hilltop property. The views were stunning, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was excellent. The one disappointment was finding the pool closed because it “wasn't yet summer,” even with the high North African temperatures. Given the high standards everywhere else, that was a letdown.

The pool area could still be useful to guests even without swimming, if there were a few sunbeds for soaking up the sun. We were there April 8-16, after travelling 4,500 km from Finland for some sunshine, but were told the pool wasn't open because summer hadn't started. It was 22-25 C the whole time. We wouldn't come in June or July, as it would be too hot for us. Our room was spotless, very big and comfortable, and the cleaning lady did a great job. Breakfast was good enough, though if you want eggs in the morning you have to ask the waiter, since they aren't on the hot buffet. The hotel is old and preserves Spanish history, but it needs major repairs: cracked tiles, missing paint, old balcony furniture, and the bathtub in room 301 needs replacing. It's a nice old hotel on a hill, with a lovely balcony view.

What a lovely surprise ♥️ We were welcomed so warmly at the hotel restaurant. Domingo and Dina deserve a special mention for being so friendly and professional, and for helping make our stay a success. Well done to the team ♥️
