Palladium Hotel Menorca

The pool is very cold, and there isn’t a local strip for an evening stroll, so if cabaret isn’t your thing, get ready for a night of cards. In October the entertainment was a bit lacking. The food was good, though repetitive. We were 60 and among the youngest couples there. The all-inclusive drinks weren’t watered down, with Cruz Campo at 5.6 percent and very drinkable wine.

The all-inclusive food and drinks had plenty of choice, and most of the staff were great at their jobs, friendly, and happy to answer questions. Zaida and Jose deserve a special mention for being such lovely bartenders. I was left with a bad impression of the manager. When I tried to stand up for myself, he threatened to call the police, apparently hoping to cause me trouble. The police listened to what I had to say and left, but the experience still bothered me. Senior management should address his behavior. Apart from that, the hotel was fine.

It was a quiet hotel, which suited us, and there’s a beach a short walk downhill. If you’d rather skip the walk, there’s a hotel shuttle. I’d come back. The place looks recently renovated, though our room had a few signs of wear. It wasn’t huge, but worked well for a couple, and the shower was fantastic. The restaurant had a good selection, but breakfast was much the same each day. It gets crowded, and the queues can drag, mostly because of how the serving area is laid out. Restaurant hours are fairly short compared with some hotels, which adds to the rush. Getting drinks there when it’s busy can be hard, so I’d suggest picking one up at the bar first. Most staff were very friendly, although a few bartenders weren’t especially personable.

The main thing that has changed since my last stay is the wasps around the pool bar. There’s no wasp control there, and seeing them around the taps and bar put me, along with many other guests, off ordering drinks. Why aren’t there traps by the bar or pool? I’d appreciate an actual answer to that question in response to this review, rather than a general note that my comments are valued. It may sound minor, but it would make the pool bar much better. I returned to palladium hotel Menorca soon after my previous visit. The staff have continued to go above and beyond, making me feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. For customer service and friendliness, they deserve five stars. Food quality, amenities, entertainment, and the other aspects I mentioned last time were unchanged. I understand the hotel is closing for the season until April next year, so I hope there’ll be time to fix at least some of the issues I’ve raised, both now and before. I’d like to give five stars when I return after it reopens, but that depends on these points being addressed.
