Villas Son Parc

The beach nearby was lovely, with clean, shallow water. We had room 107 in a block set back within the complex, and the bathroom constantly smelled of sewage from a vent in the shower. The hotel tried bleach and other things, but nothing helped. The beds were really comfortable, and the rooms were cleaned every two days. The buffet was reasonably priced, with wine and beer included. We were there at the end of the season, when most restaurants had closed, so there wasn't much to do.

The service was excellent, and the staff were kind and friendly. Whenever we reported something, someone came to try to fix it, including the sewage issue. But that needs a new or upgraded sewage system, not a temporary flush. The location is great, but the rooms we were given in the farthest part of the hotel had a persistent sewage smell. It was unbearable, especially at night when it got stronger, and ruined our stay. We had to cover the water outlet with towels to reduce it. Avoid rooms in that part of the facility. The food was average and very repetitive.

The breakfast buffet was nice, though it got busy quickly, and the nearby beach was pleasant after a 15-20 minute walk. We're all fairly fit, so that was fine for us. Around the south of the island there are more restaurants, if eating out is your thing. The weather was good apart from a random mini-hurricane at the end of August, which obviously couldn't be helped. Most hotel entertainment is aimed at French and Italian tourists. We didn't mind, but families with young children may want to bear that in mind. We enjoyed our stay and would probably come again.

The location is hard to beat, just steps from a beautiful beach. The apartments are simple but comfortable and clean. Towels were changed and the apartment cleaned every other day. There was air conditioning, a fridge, microwave, hob, and kitchen utensils. We explored a lot of the island by car, so mainly needed a clean, comfortable place to sleep and have breakfast. We cooked for ourselves, though breakfast at the hotel on our first day was tasty. There are two pools, including one for kids with activities, plus a playground and mini golf. There's also a proper golf club a few minutes from the hotel. We really enjoyed the ping-pong tables. The laundry room has paid washers and dryers. Music and activities run in one of the bar areas at night. It seemed fantastic for families and also for couples who don't mind children around. Last but not least, the two ladies working at reception during the day were lovely and very helpful.
