Hostel Oasis

It was good, though it didn’t have all the equipment.

We had breakfast at the restaurant, and it was really good. The owner was very courteous serving us. As for the hostel, it’s one of the cheapest around, so I can understand that some services or amenities aren’t included. Still, you can hear absolutely everything, from someone in another room going to the bathroom to people talking in the hallway. The shared bathroom, location, and quality felt average for the price. I’d suggest it if you need somewhere very cheap for just a night or two while passing through.

We eventually got a room, but only after being left waiting in the bar for three hours while the staff ignored us, even after we complained. We’d arrived with a confirmed booking and were first told there were no rooms; then they said there was one, but blamed a Booking.com problem and wouldn’t give it to us. They made no effort to contact Booking.com to sort it out. The owner acted as if he couldn’t remember two recent phone conversations, and they tried to charge more than the room’s actual price despite all the trouble. There wasn’t one kind gesture. Once inside, the room was unbearably hot and we could barely sleep. Cockroaches crawled over the beds, and noise from the showers kept us awake. A terrible experience, the worst accommodation I’ve ever had. That weekend was hell, and I’d never recommend the place.

Everything was very clean, which I really appreciated, and the room was great value. There’s a TV and sink, but the toilet and shower are shared. That wasn’t an issue for me. It has no air conditioning, though at this price I still think it’s great.
