We enjoyed the staff’s excellent attention and found the hotel pleasant, clean, and apparently quite new. It’s right in the pedestrian centre of the village, though you can drive in to unload. Our room was small but practical, with a good wardrobe and bathroom. The overall cleanliness was good, although the shower screen edges could use more attention since moisture makes them darken. We booked two nights through a Smartbox gift. We’d already noticed that many places charge extra to use the voucher, which is why I honestly don’t recommend Smartbox. The online booking was confirmed, but when we called a week before our trip about the weather, the hotel told us that Smartbox meant we’d been assigned a room with a 135 cm bed. This wasn’t mentioned during booking, and that clearly wasn’t the customer’s responsibility. We offered to pay the hotel directly for a bigger room, but it was already full. Breakfast was decent, though a bit sparse. There were more toast, ham, melon, yogurt, fruit and so on if you wanted them, but in a region with good produce I missed basic fresh grated tomato and extra virgin olive oil. I doubt the oil they had was extra virgin, and if it was, it was almost transparent and tasteless. Sometimes less choice and better quality makes all the difference. One other letdown: the Smartbox included a bottle of cava, but nobody offered it to us. We had a good stay and the staff were very attentive, but the Smartbox handling and missing information about the room took away from the experience a little.

Everything was spotless, with lovely details and a well-kept, beautiful feel. The service was exceptional, and breakfast made me very happy: a nice range of options. It’s especially suited to couples or a romantic break, but really works for anyone. I’d recommend it 100%.

The location is good and the hotel is very quiet, but after two nights I still can’t decide whether it merits three or four stars. Different places give conflicting opinions, though for us it’s clearly a three. The staff are friendly, yet several details bring the quality down. We were told we had a superior room, but the hotel supposedly has only two. We met two other couples who were also meant to be in superior rooms, which would make three. Hard to explain. Whatever the label, ours didn’t feel very superior. There was nowhere to put a suitcase, so we had to open it on the floor. There wasn’t even a basic bin in the room, though to be fair there was one in the bathroom. The desk lamp didn’t work, and despite reporting it to reception, it stayed that way until we left. The room also had a sloping ceiling. At 1.81 metres tall, I had to walk around with my head bent, which was quite uncomfortable. The breakfast was pretty basic too. And the bed, made from two 90 cm mattresses pushed together, was 1.80 metres wide but very hard and uncomfortable.

The food was delicious, and the rooms had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Everyone was super friendly and professional, and the fantastic team made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you!
