Amadores Beach Apartments

This was our first self-catering trip, booked at the last minute, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. It’s not all top-notch equipment, but everything you need is there: a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and two-ring hob in the room. We had a superior sea-view room, and there’s a Spar next door with most essentials. The rooms and pool areas were clean. There’s no air conditioning, but we hired a fan and it did the job, even when it was 43°. We’ll definitely be back.

The rooms are basic but very clean, and ours had an ocean-facing balcony where we watched a magnificent sunset. You can sort out breakfast, food and drinks at the nearby supermarket. The beach and bus stop are close, and the bus can take you to other parts of the island. There’s also a walking path to Puerto Rico right by the place. I liked it a lot!

The relaxed setting, warm saltwater pool and sunset views from the amazing balconies made this a great stay, and the staff were really friendly with excellent service. For the price, the location in Amadores is hard to beat. Playa del Amadores has the restaurants you need near the beach, with good-value food and drinks, including beer for 1,5-2 euro at some places. I thought the setting, views and water were all better than at Playa del Ingles. If you want more restaurants at Playa del Ingles, the walk by the ocean is wonderful and takes no more than 20 minutes. I’m definitely visiting this place again. It felt like a safe community, with many expats staying in these residential apartments. The apartments were lovely, and the ones higher up had a great sea view.
