Tracey, the English waitress, really stood out for us. She was lovely, and the bar was well stocked. The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds and a kitchen that had what we needed, though the furniture was dated and the mattress topper kept sliding off. We were all-inclusive and only used the fridge. From the balcony, we had a great view of the sea and beach, with boats passing by, and there was an airer for towels and swimwear. The pool had enough loungers while we were there, though I doubt there’d be enough in peak summer. Some tiles around it were slippery and broken, a few children fell, and the pool itself had chipped paint. The male lifeguard seemed to take it upon himself to move people’s beds even when they weren’t in anyone’s way. The female lifeguard was completely different. Evening entertainment was mediocre, and we nicknamed the irritating animation guy “the clapper” because clapping seemed to be all he did. When my friend fell down a step, the Jet2 rep wasn’t very sympathetic. She said “aww bless” and called another friend in our group several times to ask how the injured friend was, even after she’d been given the injured friend’s number.

The all-inclusive deal had no cocktails, and the food options were limited and not very good. We also had ants in our room. That was dealt with to some extent, but the next night water came through the bathroom ceiling and we had to move rooms at 10:30 pm. The small pool area was pleasant and the views were nice, but there wasn’t much else to like. It’s cheaper than most places, but still not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

That view is incredible, and the staff were all really friendly. The room was basic but clean and had what we needed, including comfy beds. I’d worried about the lack of air conditioning, but evenings were cool enough and we slept comfortably. Breakfast was brilliant, with lovely food, a really clean area and friendly service. Nothing to complain about, we had a great holiday.

The flowers were beautiful, the views were fantastic, and there was good entertainment. The hotel itself was nice. Getting around Puerto Rico on foot was the problem, the pavements are so slippery that walking into town felt dangerous, so we took a taxi each time we went down and back up.
