I’d give the accommodation two stars at most. The biggest discomfort was the lack of privacy on the back terrace. The caretaker switched on the sprinklers without asking while the glass door was open. We could even have been undressed. It was very uncomfortable; if he’d knocked, of course we would have let him in. The key pickup was also a hassle. Nobody was at reception when we arrived, and after calling, we were told to go somewhere completely different to collect the keys. There was no sign or phone number outside to explain this. We’d paid for accommodation, yet still had to go fetch the keys ourselves. The cleaning lady was very kind and asked each day whether we wanted the place cleaned. Still, a few times we woke to find her already inside, emptying the trash. The doors can only be locked from outside; from inside, you can only turn the lock. Wi-Fi worked for the first three days, then stopped, and everyone was complaining that there was no internet.

A little dated, but that’s part of its charm. It was clean and comfortable, and the location made a nice base. The shower heads need changing and raising. Well done.

It was a lovely, quiet stay, with the rooms and pool area really well looked after by the small staff team. If you want entertainment and lots of food options, this probably isn’t the place for you. For a chilled-out, no-fuss break, it’s wonderful. It’s not the Gloria Palace, but you’re not paying Gloria Palace prices either. We had an amazing time.

Europa shopping centre and the taxi ranks were only a two-minute walk away, which was handy. I came here on holiday with eight friends, and we’ve had one of our most amazing trips yet. Everything was so clean, the staff were lovely and accommodating, and none of us has a bad word to say about the apartments. Highly recommend if you’re planning to visit Puerto Rico!
