Villa Magna

Getting around does involve a ten-minute uphill walk, though once you know the area there are easy shortcuts. The staff were friendly and very helpful with tour information, and most spoke a good amount of English. The cleaners kept both the rooms and poolside spotless. I highly recommend staying here.

The sea view was the highlight. The room itself was okay, though smaller than it looked in the photos, and there were quite a lot of ants. The layout was also a bit odd, with the bathroom window facing the kitchen. Cleaning was good, but it didn’t happen every day.

We were pleased to find a quiet, stylish apartment with lovely views after checking in at Villa Magna through the Maracaibo, just about 30 seconds down the road. We enjoyed our stay and would come back. There were plenty of loungers by the pool, with enough umbrellas when needed. The views took in the harbour, landscape and beach, and it was a nice touch to find a free bottle of water and a bottle of cava in the fridge on arrival. The apartment was nicely decorated, and cleaners came every day, though they kept missing hair on one of the shower heads. I didn’t feel daily cleaning was needed, and maybe some of that time could go toward the pool area. There were a few dead bugs floating on the pool and at the bottom. We found nets around the corner and fished them out. Ants had also formed a line along one side of the pool, running several metres from two openings to a nest. At least the staff did clear away the dead bugs.

We had a fantastic week and the view is lovely. The pool was refreshing, though I wished the water were a little warmer. Internet coverage in the apartment could have been better, but the service was great.
