La Bodega Hotel Rural

The road to La Bodega includes a short, slightly rough stretch over a dried-up riverbed. It’s not hard to drive, and it gives the place an even more secluded feel. Once there, the scenery is stunning, with lots of walking trails and cycling routes nearby. Nestor makes you feel at home in this safe, quiet, relaxing place, which has its own style and atmosphere. We had booked two nights, added a third, and would have stayed longer if time allowed. We weren’t expected to eat at the restaurant, but on our last night Nestor and Soco served us delicious traditional local food, along with local wine at a reasonable price. We’ll recommend it to friends and stay again when we’re passing through.

Set among vineyards and olive trees, this peaceful old house has a rustic, personal feel and a welcoming host. The regional food and wine were nice. There’s no TV, though you won’t need one. The pool is still being built. My expectations were met across the board.

On a long bike tour across Spain last year, I stayed here and had a comfortable bed, lovely decor, beautiful views, and delicious food. I’d highly recommend it.

The room was very enjoyable, and the countryside around the house is beautiful, with superb mountain views. It’s a lovely old house, but the access is via an off-road track, and construction outside made it difficult to get into the car park. I was disappointed by the breakfast and expected better service.
