Best Mojácar Hotel

Our son immediately said he wished he lived here when we asked if he’d come back. We had a large double room overlooking the sea for my husband’s birthday, which made it feel special. The surprise bottle of Cava and fruit was such a thoughtful touch. The location works really well, with a lovely beach town close by and a historic mountain village that’s either a challenging walk or a quick five-minute drive. The activity hosts were fantastic and made people feel included. It was a joy to join the aqua aerobics and watch people of all ages having fun. The food was impressive for such a large hotel: fresh dishes changed regularly, a different menu each day, and lots of salad and vegetables. The hotel puts real effort into making a relaxing holiday. The pool was cleaned daily, the dining room was beautifully set for every meal, and the rooms were tidied even while guests were still in them until lunchtime. One of the best family holidays we’ve had. We’ll absolutely be back and recommend a stay here.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, dining facilities are excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great choice for golfers or anyone wanting somewhere quiet. There’s a fantastic pool, and the sea and some great beaches are just a stone’s throw away. Fantastic restaurants are an easy walk, though parking can be a pain.

A simple, good hotel with a beautiful pool. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the beach is just across the road. Everything else was good, though there’s no way to make a hot drink in the room.

The views and weather were hard to fault, and the top-shelf drinks had some good options. That’s about where the positives end. We came with our two sons, went all-inclusive, and felt like we’d been dropped in a retirement home. Apart from one large Spanish family, we were the youngest guests. The kids’ club seemed to be only for the three Spanish children. We asked when it started, were told 5:30 p.m., but nobody was there. The food was absolutely awful. If lunch had paella, pizza, and chicken, dinner was exactly the same. We were constantly bumped into while trying to get food for our five-year-old. The beer was always flat. All the entertainment was in Spanish, so we couldn’t understand it. Around the pool, there was only water aerobics, then no music or anything else. I honestly didn’t want to write all this, but it may be the worst place we’ve ever stayed. I didn’t realize the Spanish hated the English so much. The hotel and rooms are very dated. Our room had nails sticking out of door frames, holes in the walls, and a phone socket hanging off the wall with wires exposed. We did read the reviews beforehand, and they seemed okay. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you don’t speak Spanish. The staff don’t speak English, and the language barrier is massive.
