Camping & Bungalow Cueva Negra

I’m really enjoying my stay and would be happy to come back for the winter. The campsite sits among hillsides with beautiful views, and there’s a nice path along the beach to the next town. It’s quiet, dog friendly, and has a well-stocked store, a nice playground, plenty of sports options, and a picnic area with fireplaces. There’s a bus stop right outside, and 4G reception is good. The owner is very helpful and clearly cares about the site, and the employees are lovely. The pool is covered and heated in winter, and free to use in both summer and winter. The sanitary facilities are very clean, with toilet paper, hand soap, and a hand dryer. Shower lights stay on until you switch them off. Toilet lights go out automatically, but the switch is within reach from the toilet. The restaurant, spa, and gym are closed, though there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Maneuvering our 8.2 m caravan, hitch included, into a spot wasn’t easy. We’ve only had a caravan for a year and managed it, but I can’t recommend the site for campers or trailers longer than 8.2 m. I think 7.5 m would be comfortable.

We stayed here in September 2024, and it was a dreadful experience. The place felt deeply old fashioned and dusty, and I felt the owner acted like a robber. The staff were far less welcoming and kind than we found elsewhere nearby, and the quality was much worse. Staying there felt like having the worst holiday ever. It’s a shame to find this kind of service in such a beautiful place. The owner seems overwhelmed and deserves this kind of comment. Enjoy Spain, just not here!

A great spot for camper vans, with very wide lots and plenty of room for our 6.3 meter camper. The staff were friendly and helpful, the site felt secure and quiet at night, and the showers were clean and good. The swimming pool was exceptional. The curved, steep entrance is tricky with a tall camper, and office and reception hours are quite limited.

This site is really run down and dated, with almost no lighting after dark. There are no outside lights, and the toilet block light only stays on for a one-minute timer. The showers are horrible. Getting up the entrance feels like you need mountain climbing gear. There are no pavements or cycle paths on the roads in either direction, and it’s too far out to walk safely into town.
