The staff made us feel welcome, and our room on the seventh floor had a great view. It was newly renovated, with good air conditioning, WiFi and a spacious shower. We also liked the slides for adults and kids, the jacuzzi, and how easy it was to find a sunbed each day. There was no iron or kettle, though, and paying over €50 to use the safe for two weeks seemed unreasonable. Wasps and flies around the hotel got annoying, even if that's not the hotel's fault. We went for two weeks. Most guests were Spanish, so my daughter struggled to make friends because of the language barrier, and there were very few English families. She got bored quickly, so we had to make our own fun. The evening entertainment was mainly in Spanish too, which made it hard to join in when we didn't know what was happening. The hotel food was repetitive, often cold and pretty bland. We were half board plus, so unlimited soft drinks and alcohol with lunch and dinner was a nice extra, but we ate out every other night to break things up. Sensations had an amazing three-course menu for €20; we also liked titos beach bar, la cantina, cheers restaurant, martin morales and aurora cafe, opposite parque commercial, for breakfast and coffee. For a sunset meal, book la murella in the old town. The views were amazing and it was very reasonably priced. Mojacar is a beautiful town with lovely beaches and views, but there didn't seem to be a huge amount to do or see compared with other places we've visited. The old town is still a must, both during the day and at night, and has lovely restaurants. The hotel is at the end of the strip, so you'll need transport to reach restaurants farther away. There are supermarkets near the beach, about a six-minute walk from the hotel. Taxis felt very expensive: we were charged €15 for a two-minute ride booked by the hotel, and were asked to share with other guests. The bus stop is right outside, across the road, and buses are cheap and easy to use, including to the old town and back. We were welcomed and had a good room, but I don't think we'd return. I'm glad we visited Mojacar, though.
