Hotel Granada Palace, Affiliated by Meliá

Breakfast was average, about 7 out of 10, and fell short of what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. The room was fairly clean, though the interior looked dull and dated and could use renovation. The hotel is large and clean, but it felt eerie to us, especially on the dimly lit third, fourth, and fifth floors. Some areas had good lighting, but when we entered room 231B, we immediately felt unsettled, almost as if it were haunted. Several people in our travel group felt the same, so the place gave us a haunted impression.

The hotel is in a great spot, close to Granada Plaza Carmen and the mountains. We only stayed one night, and the spa had some issues during our visit. The hospitality team reviewed our accommodations and gave us breakfast at no charge, even though we hadn’t paid for it. There are several hotel restaurants for dinner, and we had a pleasant meal. Victor hosted us professionally and knew the local area well. We’d gladly return. A hotel that deserves its star rating 🤩.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the view from one of the towers looked out over Sierra Nevada. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the town center. Service was the problem: they seemed understaffed, with just one person at reception. Even a simple checkout took around 15 minutes when someone was ahead of me.

After a long, hot day exploring Spain, we cooled off in the pool, and check-in had been quick. The hotel rounded out our Spain trip with authentic food, clean rooms, a welcoming feel, and friendly staff. We spent the evening at the lovely rooftop bar overlooking the city. We’ll be back!
