Molinos de Antero

The owners were friendly, and the facilities are modern in a good location. But there wasn't much in the way of amenities, and although the sheets and towels were clean, the room had lots of cobwebs, stained walls, and dust. We hadn't arranged a manor house visit, but since it's one of the accommodation's attractions, it would have been a nice touch if they'd shown it to us. The price feels high for what's offered.

Rosenda and her father Matías made us feel very welcome. The pazo is an old 18th-century building, partly renovated, with a lovely garden. It’s in a quiet spot even during the August festivities, with plenty of parking, and only a 10-minute walk from the center. The simple, new rooms were perfectly adequate, with a good-sized wardrobe. There’s a shared space for coffee and reading the newspaper, plus a wide selection of books about the Tierras de Lemos and Monforte region. Paying in cash is less convenient than using a card, and the outdoor terrace could be improved. As a hotel chain, I might give it no more than 3.5 stars, but as a local family business committed to preserving culture and heritage and creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, it gets my 5 stars. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Monforte.

The rural setting has donkeys and other animals, yet everything was tidy, well cared for, and very clean. We were treated fantastically, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We loved our few days here.

The owner and her family are lovely and shared all sorts of information about the area. It’s a peaceful place, great for families with children, and well located for exploring the Ribeira Sacra. We didn't have time to visit the manor house during our short stay, but it’s worth seeing. Highly recommended.
