After the crowds, bustle, and heat of Barcelona, this villa in the Pyrenees was so peaceful. It’s a fully restored 1200 century villa, luxurious but affordable. From here you can watch the sun rise and set over the mountains, with Oix down in the valley. The area is great for hiking, then coming back for a delicious multi-course dinner. Ours included mushrooms freshly picked from their forest. Breakfast was just as good, with homemade jams, local sausages and cheeses, and fresh eggs from their chickens. The setting is pure bliss, and no picture can do its beauty justice.

Laia was a great host and a fantastic cook, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It’s an amazing place to relax and unwind in a beautiful, quiet setting. 5/5, I’d highly recommend it!

There’s plenty of room to relax and play, really enough space for both, and little friendly rabbits wandering around. The location is wonderful. We came to Mas Pineda after a long day visiting the volcanic zone of la Garrotxa, which is really worth it. Inside is amazing too, and then you get to meet Laia. A must if you’re visiting the area or simply looking for time to relax. Highly recommended!

The rooms, food, beds, views, and hospitality were all outstanding, and we loved our time here. Laia and Lluis made us feel at home straight away. They’ve created an ecologically friendly paradise that you feel part of while you’re staying. If they offer to show you around the building and estate, take them up on it. The history alone is worth the visit. Mas Pineda is a real gem for experiencing rural Catalunya. The building has loads of character, balancing traditional rural Catalan architecture with modern comforts, all in a stunning setting. It’s well placed for visiting wonderful local towns and dormant volcanoes, and for hiking or cycling. I couldn’t recommend this accommodation more highly!
