After three hot days in Barcelona, Ca Don Rafel was just the change of pace we needed. The village is quiet and the setting is lovely. Marie Jose helped us find great hikes and tours, and the younger ones had a brilliant time canyoning down a narrow river. She cooks so well that we ate three of our four dinners at the lodge.

Finding it takes some care, but once you get there the place is world-class. The terrace has an enormous view.

A peaceful place to get away from it all, with beautiful views and a lovely natural setting. Maria José and Elsa looked after us really well. Highly recommended.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. From the house, it’s easy to reach hikes, Benasque, and Pont de Suert. The location and comfort are both exceptional, and M. José made us feel like family. It really felt like home.

Castanesa is a small, special village in a beautiful setting, and the house fits right in. It has an old-time charm alongside modern comforts. We had lovely views from the room and could watch the stars at night. The people who run it are attentive and know the area well. Highly recommended.
