Camping Montblanc Park Capfun

The activity schedule is easy to follow, with posters all over the campsite showing what’s on each week, though the website is a mess. The toilets and showers get cleaned a couple of times a day, but some guests leave such a mess that even hourly cleaning might not fix it. We stayed in a Māori tent during a heatwave, and it was awful inside during the day even with the fan the campsite provided. Bring a tarp and some string or rope, there are plenty of places to hang it, and you’ll be glad you did. The pools, slides, and activities are all excellent. Best of all are the activity monitors, who work all day in the heat, keep smiling, and are always ready to help. The kids loved it and were entertained all week. We left today, and they spent the whole trip asking when they could come back. About the other comments: some bungalows are a fair walk uphill, though for some it isn’t that far. We had a good experience with the food. The snack bar cooks to order, so there can be a wait when it’s busy, but the staff are friendly and work hard, and the food is decent. The restaurant was packed when we went. They told us there’d be a 20-minute wait before taking our order while they cleared a backlog. They took it after 19 minutes, and the food came quickly. The staff were brilliant.

We usually enjoy Capfun, but we won’t return to this park or recommend it. During our two-week holiday from April 19th until May 2nd, the restaurant was open only three days, and there were no other food options, despite the website saying it opened from April 11th. At least the park is near tarranga and Salou, where there are places to go and restaurants open for dinner. The pool water wasn’t really heated, except in the slides. The store and reception are very old, and the arcade feels uninviting, old, and poorly maintained. Staff generally don’t speak much English. I wouldn’t recommend coming here, especially during the April holiday.

The kids had a great time, which gave us parents a chance to relax. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A few things could be better, though. Reception couldn’t communicate properly in English, and our emails about the grill policy went unanswered before we arrived. Then the language barrier made it hard to sort out, so we missed out on grilling during our 10 days there. Also, the restaurants and shops were closed in early June, with no information on the website. We only found out when we got to the closed doors.

The swimming area is spacious, with lots of room to sit, and the park has lovely views of the small mountains and surrounding landscape, especially from a mobile home higher up the hill. The restaurant food was okay. With one or two exceptions, the staff spoke poor English and seemed like they weren’t enjoying their work.
