Casas de Montejaque

Great place to stay, though it’s self-catering accommodation, so it wasn’t the best fit for my two-day stay.

The village is lovely, but it’s hilly, so be ready for some slopes. There are nearby bars and restaurants within a short walk, though you’ll encounter small hills, and parking is tricky, with a short walk from the on-street parking. There’s plenty of scenery around, and the night sky is beautiful. It’s a great place for a relaxed, unspoilt slice of Spain. Most people know some English, in case you really can’t learn any Spanish! We stayed in a well-kept, clean three-bedroom house with two bathrooms, two reception rooms, and a roof terrace. The owners did everything they could for us. The only downside to staying in one of the houses rather than the complex is the short walk to the pool. Most families are grouped around the pool in the complex.

We had a great holiday house on the high streets of Montejaque, with a phenomenal view over the valley and village. The pool was clean and had a great view too. The main building was just a short walk or climb away, and the village itself is magnificent, with all the shops and restaurants you need.

We loved the village and everything else about the stay. First we spent two nights at the pool, which was marvelous, then moved to a bigger house in the village. The owners arranged the move perfectly, though we did lose the large terrace. There’s no wifi in the apartment, only at reception, and even there the connection isn’t brilliant.
