Hotel Rural El Majuelo

The rooms are modern, clean, and stylish, and we’re still exploring the little town. For a roadside inn, this is a great choice, even a bit luxurious. Checking in was a first for us: there’s a machine by the entrance and you do the check-in over a video call. I thought it was fantastic.

We got to meet Calixto, the owner, and hear about the exciting project they’re developing. The hotel already runs perfectly, though they’re planning some extra services. Our apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay, and the place itself is beautiful, new, quiet, and clean. Definitely recommended.

The wood-burning stove was all set up, with several logs ready, and there was also a lovely little jar of honey. That really left us speechless. We booked an apartment, and everything about the room was lovely and peaceful. It’s a charming, luxurious rural hotel, beautifully decorated and clearly put together with a lot of care. We’ll definitely come back.

All the communication was through a computer with a camera, and that part worked perfectly. There were no staff around, though. The hotel looks beautiful, and the rooms look excellent, but I can’t recommend staying there. The walls and ceilings are incredibly noisy. The neighbors weren’t especially loud, yet we could hear everything, from peeing and showering to snoring. The walls felt as thin as tent canvas, and earplugs didn’t make sleep possible. My wife and I finally got up in the middle of the night and left, completely desperate. I don’t understand why the hotel is here. Maybe it’s meant for workers, but certainly not tourists. There’s nothing to do or see, the nearby bar was closing and couldn’t make up for it, and there’s no restaurant close by. We’ve stayed in many hotels, but this was the worst. It felt like a joke.
