Hostal La Creu

The staff were fantastic: courteous, helpful, and genuinely great. The hotel and its facilities are modern and in fairly decent shape, and the central location is handy. If you’re on a motorcycle, there’s a locked garage to protect it. As far as I could tell, there isn’t other parking in the area. Breakfast was simple and limited, but tasty. The room itself was a real problem for me. The bathroom is only about 2m from the bed, separated from the rest of the room by a thin glass panel, and the sink is in the room. The A/C was the bigger issue: it’s centralized, guests can’t control it, and it barely works. The common areas were much cooler than the room. It shuts off at night, and during the worst heat wave to hit Spain that summer, I ended up sweltering through a sleepless, miserable night. Because of these issues, especially the A/C, I wouldn’t choose this place again despite its other good points.

We only stopped for lunch and didn’t use the facilities. The menu del dia was incredible value at under €18, and the food was superb. We all agreed it was the best meal of our holiday. The staff were lovely and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. We hadn’t planned the stop or booked ahead, but the place soon filled up, so booking seems sensible if you want to avoid missing out.

We came for lunch and had a great experience. The food was 10 out of 10, and the service was splendid. The staff were amazing, friendly, and happy to accommodate us. Highly recommend.

There were three of us, and we turned up late looking for lunch without a booking. Both women were so kind and found us a table quickly. We were the last ones in the dining room, but they never hurried us. The food was tasty, came in good portions, and was really good. We ordered two menus and one separate dish because there wasn’t a vegetarian menu.
