Camping Moraira

We stopped here with our van in December and found it really peaceful, with lots of room. The showers were great, and the staff kindly pointed us toward the best places to catch the autumn and winter sun. It's also a handy starting point for road cycling away from busy Calp.

The reception staff were very helpful, and there was plenty of hot water. The location is fabulous. My one criticism is that the trees could be cut back, since very little sunlight reaches the pitches.

The pool is lovely, the facilities are very good, and the staff were lovely too. The setting is beautiful, but this is a tough campsite for a motorhome: the access is very, very narrow and the pitches are small, so we felt squeezed. If tight manoeuvring isn't for you, this place may not suit you. It's also very expensive, €32 for a tiny plot for one night without an electric hookup. We were meeting family, so we bit the bullet. It's the only legal show in town and well placed, but too much.

The views were outstanding, and the site was clean. We stayed in a tent, and although the place looks small, it's super cozy. We were surprised to have to park outside on the narrow streets, but it all worked out. The staff walked us to our spot and treated us very nicely. I noticed they spoke quietly among themselves, which stood out compared with the usual Spanish office atmosphere. The downsides for me were no proper playground for children, just two metal installations, and the noisy birds and insects in the morning. Of course, that part isn't the administration's fault. Welcome to nature! :D
