El Sosiego

The outdoor area was good for the children, and the house itself was fine. Still, quite a few things need attention. Hot water was only available if we kept one tap running at a time. The old kitchen utensils could do with replacing, and the roosters and barking dogs meant very early mornings. On top of that, the owner quoted us one price directly, then charged us more.

Julio and his wife made us feel so welcome, even though heavy rain spoiled the weather during our stay. Their hospitality made the visit memorable, and the traditional food they serve as an extra was delicious, something we hadn't tasted in a long time. The house is lovely, roomy, and has everything needed for a few days. It's in a quiet spot very close to Morella, in one of the prettiest parts of Castellón province. We had a perfect stay and will definitely come back.

The food and the care from Julio and his wife really stood out, and the prices were very reasonable. Their restaurant and bar are so distinctive that many people staying in Morella came over to eat. We spent two nights at Casa Rural El Sosiego and were made to feel at home throughout. The 200 year old house is beautifully decorated and very well kept, with spacious rooms and lovely outdoor space. It's close to town but wonderfully quiet, with a shallow river right beside it. Great for groups or events, and I do recommend it for a Spain vacation. A SPECTACULAR stay at Casa Rural El Sosiego. Julio and his wife were professional and welcoming, and everything was maintained so well. The house has roomy interiors and excellent outdoor space, plus beautiful decorations. It's near town, yet very peaceful, and the shallow river next to the house is hard to miss. The food was incredible and fairly priced, and the place also has its own restaurant and bar. Ideal for groups and events, and definitely worth visiting on your next trip to Spain.

We paid €750 for just two nights, yet the beds were old and uncomfortable, and the pillows smelled bad. The furniture looks like it came from my grandmother's time, and even sitting on the sofas felt disgusting. It seems they haven't spent a single euro updating the house in 20 years. At those prices, they should at least get new beds, sheets, and towels.
