Hostal Pradillo

Good spot, but I’d only come here to sleep, not to relax.

One night was enough for me.

The neighbors were wildly loud at night, partying and shouting from 1 to 5 PM, and it felt like the landlord didn’t care as long as he got paid. Our rooms were very cold, with no heat or space to wash or dry clothes, and the hostel’s cleanliness left a lot to be desired. We were put in rooms 3 and 4 in an old adobe house beside the main building. There were no street-facing windows, just a dark room with cats, and the smell made sleeping impossible. We stayed a week. The cleaner came once and changed the sheets twice, though we changed them ourselves. There was nowhere to cook, so anyone staying several days should expect to spend a lot on meals. The shower water was almost always lukewarm, apparently because there was only one water heater. You had to shower early to get warm water before it ran out upstairs.

I only gave it a star for the location. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve had, and I’d never go back. The room smelled of tobacco the whole time, even with the window open, so I sprayed my perfume on the sheets and around the room. On arrival, there was an older man eating in the hallway where they call the reception area, but that was the least of our problems. Late at night, staff were shouting and insulting each other, so we couldn’t sleep. At 11:30 in the morning, just as we thought we might finally rest, someone banged on our door and said they needed to clean the room. We went out, and when we came back at 5:00, it still hadn’t been cleaned. Then loud music started in the hallway, and we heard calls threatening to stab someone. We left, despite having paid for two nights, after staying only one. It was truly deplorable. I can’t even share the audio recordings of the conversations because they’re chilling, with sounds of violence and threats. I hope the business closes, or someone who knows how to run it takes over. It’s in a great location and could be much nicer with a few improvements.
