I picture my ideal vacation as time away from civilization, with a real pause to rest and appreciate life. That’s what I got here, and I had a completely satisfying stay. This place is one of those rare gems, and a lot of that is down to Lourdes, who owns it. She was so accommodating. The rooms were great, the breakfasts plentiful and made with heart, and there were little details tucked around the house and rooms. I also enjoyed the interesting conversations. Thanks so much for a lovely time :)

This lovely, quiet spot is just 15 minutes from Bilbao, and it’s worth the drive. Places this nice are always a little off the beaten path. You definitely need a car, and it’s smart to arrive before dark. 😉

The panoramic views were breathtaking, and the peaceful location gave me a much-needed break from the daily hustle and bustle. I had a wonderful stay at Casa Rural and wanted to share how much I appreciated it. The woman at reception deserves a special mention. Her attentive service and genuine kindness made me feel welcome and valued. Thank you for a memorable visit. I’d love to return to the beautiful house and its quiet surroundings. The old mill has been turned into an inn, with coordinated decor and charm in every corner. Errota Barri is tucked into the quiet hills of Mungia, but close enough for day trips to Bilbao or the beautiful Basque beaches. Breakfast was tasty, with local produce and several kinds of homemade bread. Talking with Lourdes, the lady of the inn, was another highlight. She was warm and kind, and shared some local favorites and recommendations. I’d love to come back when I’m in the Basque area.
