La Casa de Madera

The location worked really well for excursions in the area. We spent a weekend in this pretty, fully renovated house, which has a huge covered gazebo and a small enclosed terrace that felt too cramped for ten people. Inside, the layout is quite unusual and very compartmentalized. Water pressure is barely there in the downstairs bathroom, though the others are fine. We’d have liked to eat there on Sunday before heading to our destination, but were told we had to leave by noon.

Even with rain, we could enjoy breakfast and the unbeatable views thanks to the clever glass enclosure around part of the house. Breakfast was delicious, made with local organic produce. The room was spacious, just right, and very well soundproofed. The owners were so lovely, and we felt so comfortable that our stay seemed much too short. A perfect place to rest, unwind, and get some fresh air.

Our son’s First Communion weekend at Casa de Madera left us with wonderful memories, and everything felt perfect: the house, setting, views, and peaceful atmosphere. It’s spacious, with a porch that’s great for a relaxed breakfast and a covered terrace for lunch, afternoon tea, or just listening to the quiet from a sun lounger. Leaving happened so fast that we wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much, Jam. We’ll surely be back.

The hostess made us feel very welcome, and breakfast was really good, with toast, cold cuts, fresh juices, and a choice of savory, sweet, or a bit of both. The living room, covered terrace, and little glassed-in porch were all charming spaces we could use. This wooden house in Arrieta is beautiful, with lovely decor and excellent finishes. The bedroom was large and cozy, and so was the bathroom area. Highly recommended if you want peace and quiet.
