Hotel Legazpi

The smell and atmosphere made this feel like a place to avoid unless you have no other choice. There was a raw sewage odor from the bathrooms, and disturbing noise at all hours. The halls sometimes smelled of drugs and cigarette smoke, which also came under the door or through the windows. Even after we changed rooms, there was someone else's hair and a smoke smell under the bed. The staff were unpleasant, and I didn't feel secure. There are better pensions and hostels in Murcia for the same price, so stay elsewhere.

The room was clean, but that was about the only positive. Noise carried everywhere, and other guests were loud and impolite well past midnight. The cleaning lady started making a lot of noise early in the morning, too, and it felt very unprofessional. We needed a good night's sleep, so I can't recommend this place. On our first day, the receptionist also asked us to hand over our keys when we went out, without explaining why, even though we had booked two nights.

I left within three hours and didn't stay overnight. It had rained heavily, and from my third-floor room I could smell the drains. The TV was stuck on one channel, with no sound and no remote. The location was good, though, and the staff were friendly. My room was clean and the air conditioning was brilliant.

The staff were really pleasant, and although the parking was away from the hotel, it felt safe. The room itself was disappointing. We could hear everyone and everything through the paper-thin walls. They'd left two nearly used-up toilet rolls, plus two shampoo sachets, but no hand soap or shower gel. I don't usually mind complimentary toiletries, but that felt like an odd half measure.
