Grupotel Alcudia Pins

Beach access was the best part of our family holiday. At TUI Blue Alcudia Pins in Muro, Alcudia Bay, we were just a two-minute walk from soft white sand and clear water. Bars, restaurants, and shops were close too: the beach, a bar, and a restaurant were within 50m, a shop within 100m, and the bus stop was only 50m away. Ca’n Picafort centre is around 3km away, and Alcudia is 4km away, both easy to reach by bus or taxi. We stayed during October half term and had a really enjoyable trip overall. The team were a real highlight. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and they were especially lovely with my son, making an effort to help him feel special. Service around the hotel was warm and accommodating. Food was the biggest disappointment, especially compared with other TUI Blue resorts. It was freshest, warmest, and had the most choice right when the restaurant opened. Later in the sitting, there was less available and the quality dropped noticeably. There’s one main dinner restaurant, two breakfast and lunch options, and one included meal at the restaurant near the beach, which was a nice touch. Since the hotel was closing for the season on our checkout day, some facilities had already shut. Vegan meals need more attention. We had to keep asking for options, and there were no clear labels for dietary needs. Vegan pizza, ice cream, and yoghurts would help, as would making sure margarine is placed on the vegan side of the buffet. We loved the beach, only two minutes from our room. Sunbeds there cost extra because the hotel doesn’t own that area, but there’s plenty of room to lay out a towel instead. The sea was beautiful and surprisingly warmer than the pool. The pool was very cold in October, too chilly for a long swim. It’d be great if the hotel considered heating it in cooler months. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though they looked less modern in person than they do in the online photos. Despite the food and facility issues, we had a lovely time, largely thanks to the location, staff, and beach. I’d return mainly for the beach and the amazing team.

Our expectations were low after reading reviews, and we’d had to switch our holiday from Mexico a week before travelling for health reasons. But we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Reception checked us in quickly, the room was spacious for our family of four with teenagers, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is right in front of the hotel and really nice. The pools are big, though they get crowded when the hotel is full. There are only a few shops nearby, and the entertainment wasn’t usually our thing, but we found it underwhelming. The beach gets packed too, and it can be hard to get through the crowds. Shower pressure was awful, so we washed our hair in the sink to save time. The pool was cold even in August. The biggest downside was other guests, which has nothing to do with the hotel. Some of the rudest, most ignorant people I’ve ever come across. So rude! We wouldn’t return. Package family holidays aren’t for us now that our children are older, though I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Majorca with younger kids.

I especially loved winding down with a drink under the stars after a day of live music, concerts, or trying one of the activities for kids and adults. There’s plenty to do, from the pools and water sports to tennis and fitness facilities. The food was another highlight, with varied breakfasts, seafood, meats, salads, and desserts, plus local and international options. Staff were courteous and quick to help, which made the place feel welcoming. The hotel is in Playa de Muro, near a wide sandy beach with clear water, and the sunny days and mild evenings made sunset walks easy to enjoy. I had a truly relaxing stay at TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins and would gladly return to Majorca.

We stayed July 1-7 this year, and it was a terrible experience. Our clothes and suitcases still smelled after we got home because the room, B202, stank of mold, old frying oil, and stale garbage. We reported it three times. The first response was to spray toilet freshener, which made the smell worse. We asked to move, but reception said the hotel was full. We also requested a different room with just a shower because one person had trouble getting in and out of a bathtub. We asked three times about that too, and were told there was no room available. We’ll never travel with TUI again. That’s the short version.
