Universal Aparthotel Elisa

The apartments were fantastic, with a double bed, sofa bed, dining and coffee tables, cooking hobs, microwave, shower, and patio doors opening onto a private balcony. The TV couldn't pick up channels, but that wasn't a big deal. We weren't sure what to expect from the facilities, though the ratings looked good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elisa. We arrived half an hour before the room was ready. Check-in was easy, and they gave us a table and champagne while we waited. Our concierge was very helpful, showed us to the room, and checked in with us regularly. We never caught her name. The pool is spacious, but deeper than I am tall in most places, so I only went in once. There was plenty of sun. It rises across from our balcony, then we got it at the pool bar from mid-morning. In October there were always loungers available, with no need to reserve. Drinks were average or a bit above, not too bad but not the best. The Cruzcampo pints were great. I slipped on a step by the poolside toilets and broke my finger. The hotel quickly directed us to the nearest hospital, on the same road, and had a hamper of food and drink ready when we got back. Please watch out for that step. It was a very, very good stay, though bring mosquito spray for the balcony and pool.

The staff were the best part, so lovely and welcoming. The apartments have everything you need, and the pool was nice and never too busy during the off-season. There's a beautiful beach nearby and some great restaurants, and the area isn't too busy. Perfect hotel!

The food was great all week, with fresh meat and fish cooked on the grill in front of you, good produce, a nice cheese section, and really good desserts. There were plenty of healthy choices without the buffet feeling overloaded, and we didn't miss anything. The dining room is open and has big windows overlooking the lake. We came with five friends in mid-April for a week of cycling, and this was perfect for it. The rooms were newly renovated, clean, and faced the pool. Our studio had a huge terrace and its own outdoor sunbed. The staff really made the stay. They were friendly and helpful, and by the end of the week they knew what we liked to drink with our meals. We shared a few laughs. It was a pleasure, and the perfect hotel for our cycling holiday. Thanks again!

The outlook from room 5 was lovely and very private, over the water, though it might be a problem later in the year. A great aparthotel in a good location, with first-class, helpful staff who spoke good English, which was very useful. The bike room was always needed on our holidays, and this was one of the best.
