Albergue Casa Carmina

We had a problem with the way Casa Carmina handled an alleged room damage charge. It appeared on our credit card only after we had left, with no notice beforehand. We challenged it and informed Booking, and Sara from the guesthouse then showed a security camera video, with sound, to support her position. The audio doesn't establish what Sara seemed to intend, but it does show that the main hall camera, in the dining area, records conversations as well as images. I believe this violates data protection laws and reflects unethical management. Sara's passive-aggressive behavior added to the experience, so I can't recommend Casa Carmina. If you're comfortable eating while your image and voice are being recorded, good luck. The facilities themselves are very good.

Dinner was superb and served beautifully, and dessert was a particular treat, a family favorite of the owners. Our room was lovely, and the personal tour of the grounds made the warm welcome even nicer. We were overjoyed to spend the night at Casa Carmina, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. We felt confident we'd have a restful, rewarding stay, and did.

After a long, gruelling day of walking, the back garden was just the spot to unwind. The staff were incredibly kind, everything was very clean and welcoming, and the food was delicious. It was an amazing experience, and I'd love to return one day. Gracias a todos Hotel de Carmina!

The host was friendly and helpful, and both the dorms and bathrooms were clean. My stay was okay, though compared with other Albergues I've used, a few things made it less convenient. There's no guest fridge, and the explanation was that a shared fridge would be illegal in Spain. I'd have preferred a straightforward answer that you simply don't provide one. There was no soap for washing clothes or basic cooking supplies such as oil. The shower ran for only three seconds at a time and was lukewarm. Also, restaurant guests, especially children, were running and shouting until after 22:00. I wish I'd known about these things in advance, so I'm sharing them here.
