Hotel Playa de Aguilar

The owner was excellent, friendly, and helpful, and clearly takes pride in the hotel. They even found room for us after we'd mistakenly booked the wrong day and arrived a day late. It’s a fantastic hotel, but our stay had a few frustrations. There was a wedding reception with bangers going off and car engines revving, which disturbed us when we were trying to sleep. A few guests were rather rude about my disabled companion, which upset him, though that wasn’t the hotel's fault. I was also overcharged for three bracelets I bought.

The hotel is in a quiet spot within walking distance of the beach. Our comfortable room was well equipped, with a fridge, desk, couch, and a balcony looking out to sea. Staff were very helpful with suggestions for places to visit and recommended some excellent restaurants. You can also get drinks and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast had a nice range of food and drinks for only 10 euro. We found the hotel welcoming and very good value.

We had dinner at the hotel more often than we’d planned because there were so many delicious things we wanted to try. The food was absolutely delicious. Our room was well appointed with everything we could think of, and we loved sitting on the terrace looking over the mountains and sea. The owner and staff gave excellent service. The owner also knows a lot about the history of the region and province, and was helpful with anything we wanted to do. Highly recommend, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. I understand they’ll have live music outside on Friday and Saturday nights this summer on their new patio, which is covered by a tent. I’ll definitely head back to see that!

I loved being surrounded by nature here. After a day's work, I could sit on the terrace and admire the beautiful green landscape. If you want bars and shops nearby, though, this may not be the place for you. The rooms are very, very nice and the service was really good. I also thought it was so kind and thoughtful that I got to choose which of three rooms I wanted.
