La Mar de Ben

The central location was a real plus, and the house felt warm and cozy. It’s an old place updated with a modern touch, but the room arrangement is a little odd: a small kitchen, living and dining space plus a bathroom on the ground floor, with the bedroom upstairs in the attic under very low ceilings. The kitchen worked, though a few more pots and pans would have made cooking easier. The host stayed in touch before we arrived, and checking ourselves in was straightforward. The built-in bath in the basement looked fancy, but the hot water is limited to the roughly 50L electric boiler, about enough for the bath. After a soak, there’s no hot water until it refills and heats back up. Steam from the bath also spread through the house because ventilation is poor, and there were some mold issues, especially under the stairs. That could matter more if you or someone traveling with you has asthma or another respiratory issue.

We had a really pleasant weekend here, and the host was attentive and helped us with a few things. The keypad entry was handy since we arrived a little late. The house is right in central Muros, with a spa-like lower floor and a big built-in tub. On the middle floor there’s a nicely decorated kitchen, living room and bathroom, then the attic bedroom with a very comfortable bed. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in the area, and recommend it.

That huge tub downstairs is easily the highlight, and the kitchen is fully equipped. We picked this cute little triplex for a weekend away. The owner was so friendly and attentive, and the lovely decor made it a great place to unwind between visits to the beautiful nearby beaches. 100% recommended.

On a quiet pedestrian cobbled street in the center of Muros, La Mar de Ben is a great place for two. It’s 20 meters from the Church of San Xose and a three-minute walk from Plaza Curroda. Very clean, with thoughtful little touches for guests, and communication with the host was quick and easy. We’ll be back and would recommend it.
