Camping Era Yerla

The village is right next to the campsite, and the site is quiet and handy for excursions. Our pitch was small but pleasant beside the river, whose sound softened the traffic noise from the main road. Some pitches are quite far from the facilities, and they might not be sufficient if the campsite were full, though it wasn't when we stayed. The showers were good but cramped. The pool looked nice, and could be useful for families with kids, but I didn't use it. There's a bar and restaurant too, though I can't comment on the food because I didn't eat there. A few things let it down. Hot water at the washing-up area ran out early, apparently because some campers leave the hot tap running. Push taps with an automatic shutoff would help. The village, like many in the valley, has been turned into a fake, Disneyland-like mountain scene, complete with plastic cows and pseudo-vintage bikes with flower baskets. Restaurants there are mostly quite expensive. For what you get, the campsite felt overpriced, with limited facilities and pitches so small our caravan barely fit.

Arties is a good location, and the restaurant was decent. But our bungalow cost about 125 Euro per night, and its state didn't come close to justifying that rate. The amenities were worn and poorly maintained, and the kitchen had too little equipment, much of it in bad condition. It was usable, just far below what I expected for the price.

Stay away. The staff were very unfriendly, the showers were cold and dirty, and it cost 25€ for a tent. For some reason, I suspect tax evasion, they only accepted cash.

The owner or manager shouted at us to leave when I parked with my parents to go to the restaurant, since we weren't residents. Only after realizing we were customers did he stop. That's a bad example for the staff. They should learn customer service. We chose somewhere else in the village.
