Hotel Boutique Casa del Comendador

The people running the place were kind and very helpful, and the local restaurant served delicious food. We spent two nights there on a family visit to Madrid and found it wonderful. The hotel’s historic interiors have been renovated respectfully and to a high standard, and our room was tidy with a comfortable bed. With a car, Madrid is a convenient 30-minute drive away. The nearby town is picturesque and worth visiting in its own right.

We loved the food at their restaurant. I spent a night there for my partner’s birthday, and they decorated the room and brought us a cake. Martha was kind and helpful.

We really liked the rustic-modern look of the room, and it was quite comfortable. The hotel has plenty of charm, and the staff were excellent and thoughtful throughout our stay. The reason for four stars is that the soundproofing wasn’t great and the air conditioning didn’t heat the room very well. We’d definitely stay again if we get the chance. Best regards, and goodbye.

There was rarely anyone at reception, and the €10 parking charge gets you a gravel courtyard with a curb that could easily hurt your feet. The room was cold and drafty, with street noise and the neighbor next door clearly audible. Soundproofing, cleanliness, and maintenance all need work. The bathroom walls are untiled and rough, with the finish crumbling, the safe was broken, and the air conditioning barely warmed the room. The quality doesn’t match the price. This isn’t a 4-star hotel, and it doesn’t operate like one.
