Blanco Hotel Spa

The pillows were uncomfortable, and the staff weren't very helpful. The rooms are okay, but not worth the high price. They also lack basic amenities.

The pool was nice, and the shower had good water pressure, but there was nowhere to put soap or shampoo. The room itself was nice, though storage was so limited there was only one small spot for a bag, so my partner had to use a chair. For a spa hotel, having to pay extra to use the spa was disappointing. There were ashtrays on the balconies despite the no smoking policy, and smoke from the people next door came into our room, so we had to keep the door shut and couldn't sit outside. When the paper mill is producing, the smell is horrible.

We had lunch as a group of five. The restaurant was roomy and comfortable, the service very friendly, and the Asturian products were good quality. We did wait almost an hour for the first courses, though. The person in charge said there were lots of orders at once, which I understand because the restaurant was quite full. Still, they need more staff so customers aren't left waiting such a long time for food.

The outdoor pool was freezing, and even the loungers were hard and uncomfortable without mats. The hotel grounds are plain, and the hotel itself is incredibly tacky. We might have laughed off the look if the place had actually been a spa. We booked two nights for our anniversary weekend expecting a spa, but the only option was a large jacuzzi-style pool, and they wanted 20 euros per hour to use it. The staff were dismissive and unhelpful, and the whole place reeked of Clorox. The area around the hotel has no charm either. We gave up the second night and left. Definitely not worth it, especially if you're sensitive to smells.
