Navia appealed to us because it gets more of its character from industry, the port, and trade than tourism. It's also a handy base for Asturias's coast and the hilly hinterland around «Taramundi». «Palacio Arias & Hotel y Apartamentos Arias» is a very nice coastal hotel, spread between the stately «Palacio Arias» and the adjacent new building, with different kinds of rooms and apartments. Ours was comfortable and quiet, overlooking the garden. Breakfast was good quality and the price-quality ratio excellent. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, from the older gentleman who looked more like a well-groomed lawyer to the young woman who speaks perfect English.

We stayed in the Casa, with its two floors of rooms, and it was very quiet and peaceful. There are two buildings, and you can park in the hotel's lot. The clean room and very good breakfast met our expectations after two days, including fruit and options beyond cow milk. There are many rooms to use for your own benefit. The price is pretty high, and I felt we could have had a better bedroom, though I guess they had no availability. No interaction was needed beyond reception.

The staff really seem to care about their customers. On a Sunday evening I was hungry, short on time before catching my ride, and couldn't find anywhere open in town. A friendly man working there made me a sandwich and brought me cake, yogurt, and bananas from breakfast. I paid for it, of course, but it sorted out my hunger, and he gave me plenty because I'm a big guy. I'll never forget him making me dinner. Breakfast was very good too, the rooms were tidy with good curtains, and the price was very affordable in the tourism offseason. I can recommend the place to anyone. Thank you, friendly man.

The man at reception was friendly and helpful when I checked in. The room was spotless, quiet, comfortable, and spacious, and breakfast was good. The price is high, though. I asked for “vegan” options, and besides lots of fruit, pan, and more, they even had soy milk.
