Apartamentos Chimenea-Playa

We spent 11 nights here with family and found the neighborhood quiet and peaceful. The Mirador Apartment is on the first floor, with its own gated entrance and a huge terrace overlooking the residents-only pool. It was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, including sun loungers, beach umbrellas and even a big wheeled shopping bag. There’s an underground garage, working Wi-Fi and air conditioning, plus bedroom fans that worked well. The beach is a 10-minute walk downhill; Merkadona supermarket is 15 minutes uphill. I’d recommend these apartments.

The apartment didn’t have air conditioning, which seems essential. The pool isn’t Olympic-sized, but it’s adequate, and the apartments are very quiet in a secluded area about 300 meters from the beach. Getting down to the beach is quick, though walking back up from either side will make you sweat. The beach wasn’t very crowded with Spanish tourists.

We trusted the owner when he offered to refund us if he could rent the apartment again after we contacted him for personal reasons about our Booking.com reservation. He did rent it again, for an even higher price, but we never got any money back. It feels like he wanted to keep our payment while charging new guests for the same dates. It’s disappointing that practices like this can hurt other responsible owners too. Be careful, and get any agreement in writing before deciding.

The apartment itself has a nice view, decent standards and is fairly well equipped. But a major construction project started close by, with machinery making awful noise from early morning until late at night every day. We could barely sleep or relax by the terrace or pool, and during my week there it was practically impossible to rest.
