Hostal Alhambra

I can't put into words how good Hostal Alhambra is for the price. It's a spotless little gem in Nerja, close to so many bars and restaurants. The room had a double bed, an en suite bathroom, and a safe. Hats off to them 👏👏👏👏

I found it secure and spotless, and the staff were really friendly. Just bear in mind there's no pool, and the balconies are shaded, so if you want to sunbathe you'll have to head to the beach.

The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, and the compact room had everything I needed. It was clean, with a good TV, a large wardrobe with hanging space, a chair, a full-length mirror, USB and regular charging sockets, and a quiet air conditioner. The en suite shower room was great, with plenty of towels, shower gel, and soap. Check-in was easy and friendly. The room is beside a noisy road and area, but the closed French doors blocked it out completely, and the night was quiet. In the morning, I could hear other guests and water from the adjoining room at a sensible hour. There's a small shared seating area with tea and coffee for a euro or two, and there's a lift as well as stairs. We'd recommend it and would definitely return. We found parking on the busy surrounding streets, and there's also a large car park about a five-minute walk away for €1 if the attendant is there.

The receptionist, who may be the owner, is completely crazy. Be careful. We regret booking three nights in advance.
