Hostal Doña Carmen

It was spotless and classy, with beautiful rooms and a very central location. We didn't need a taxi all week, with restaurants, bars and the beach all within walking distance. The staff were welcoming and polite. It's advertised as a hostel, though it certainly doesn't feel like one. I'd definitely go back.

A lovely place to stay in Nerja, right in the center, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are a great size, and they left water, coffee and a few snacks in ours when we arrived.

My partner and I had to cancel because of a family emergency. He contacted you on Saturday, well before the scheduled Wednesday check-in, but didn't get a reply until the day of the booking. By then, he was told the cancellation couldn't be processed and was charged the full amount. We understand why cancellation policies exist, but he made a clear effort to get in touch ahead of time while dealing with sensitive personal matters. The delayed response directly affected the outcome, and it's unreasonable to penalise him for that. Given the circumstances, the charge doesn't seem fair, and we both feel a resolution is warranted. Awful experience and customer service.

It's a nice, clean and modern hotel, though the rooms are a little small. The staff were friendly, and the location worked well for us: just five minutes' walk from the Balcon de Europa, two minutes from paid public parking, and under ten minutes from the city center's bars, restaurants and shops. A nice place to spend a couple of days.
