Hotel Carabeo

The hotel sits on a pretty street with lovely sea views, just a minute from the beach, and the communal car park is directly opposite. It’s a great base for Nerja. There’s a lively bar and popular restaurant downstairs, so the place has a friendly buzz without getting rowdy. Once the bar closes, it becomes very quiet. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful, and the hotel felt comfortable and easy to enjoy. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a hotel for ages. I’d happily return just for the tomato bread.

Breakfast overlooking the little pool was great, and we loved the bar with its delicious free tapas. We also had a Saturday evening meal outside looking over the sea, which was spectacular. It’s a beautiful, quirky hotel in a perfect location, and the staff were the friendliest and most accommodating. Such a memorable stay. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

The terrace is stunning, with views across Balcon de Europa and beyond, and the service was really good. There’s a great menu to choose from too. Hotel Carabeo is a real jewel in gorgeous Nerja old town, full of atmosphere and charm as soon as you walk in. Definitely a place not to miss.

The staff were an absolute delight, so welcoming and accommodating. The old tapas bar is a lovely bonus, and the restaurant upstairs is top class and very popular, so booking is essential. This is a charming, distinctive hotel right on the waterfront in Nerja. It has kept a feel that’s been lost in Nerja/Costa del sol, with fresh yet rustic and glamorous decor that gives it a step-back-in-time quality. At the same time, it’s lively and buzzing. It deserves its acclaim as a destination hotel and restaurant, and we’re so glad we found it.
