We spent a week here with the family and would gladly have stayed longer. The scenery is fantastic, the setting is quiet, and the villa is nicely equipped. We especially enjoyed the comfortable main living area and the well-kept outdoor space. The road up the hill may be daunting if you’re a nervous driver, but it’s manageable. There’s a minibus at the bottom that takes you to a really nice beach, and the nearby town is a quick trip for supplies or sightseeing. We’ll be looking to come back, which says a lot.

We had such a fantastic time here last year that we’ve booked another stay, this time for 12 nights. The location is amazing, and the stars at night were beautiful. You’ll need a hire car to get around, so check that your driving licence is valid. The Nerja Caves are worth a visit, they have a real wow factor.

A week here left us wishing we could have stayed for two. We loved being able to switch off and have such a great holiday. The house is gorgeous and very well maintained, with incredibly comfortable beds and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A juicer, oil and vinegar, and toilet and kitchen roll would have made it perfect :) If you enjoy La Olaya, the location works well for exploring several coves away from the crowded beaches in nearby towns. The house sits in the mountains among avocado groves and pine forest, a great spot for anyone who loves mountain scenery and quiet. Nerja is just 17 minutes away, with its beautiful Andalusian white village, lovely restaurants, and charming shops.
