Villas Axarquia Nerja

Violeta and José were welcoming and helpful, and we felt right at home in this apartment. It's centrally located, with the beach only a few minutes away and plenty of nice shops and restaurants nearby. We'll be back soon. The place has a large shared terrace with lovely sea and mountain views. Inside, the Andalusian-style flat is lovingly decorated and very well equipped. The kitchen has what you need, and there's also a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Towels and bedding are provided, as are a hairdryer and bathroom accessories. The living room has a sofa bed and a large flat-screen TV, and the bedroom bed is very comfortable. We had an unforgettable holiday.

The apartment was close to the beach, and the owner had reserved a parking space right beside it, which made things easy. It was spotless and had a remarkable level of attention to detail, with coffee, water, tea, chairs, beach umbrellas and towels, shower towels and all kinds of shower gel provided. We'd definitely repeat the experience.

Jose welcomed us warmly and showed us around when we arrived. He even took us on a private tour of Frigiliana, which was fantastic. We spent the first day in a smaller apartment, which explains why the photos differed, then moved to a slightly larger one on day two. The first had a better kitchen with hot water, a large TV, a smaller bed and a balcony facing the street. In the second, the kitchen had only cold water and was split across two areas; the cooking space felt cramped. Its small balcony had a partial sea view, and the air conditioning was only in the bedroom, so the living room sometimes felt cold. The TV was small. Both places were very well stocked, with coffee, tea, spices, water, shampoo, beach towels, a hairdryer and more. The beach and town are a 5-10 minute walk away. It was simple but very clean and good, and the price for what you got was absolutely reasonable.

The owner was very friendly, and the apartment was clean, central and full of thoughtful supplies: towels, beach towels, an umbrella, clothesline, coffee, milk and juice. We appreciated that he saved us a parking spot right outside the door, because parking in Nerja is impossible. We left the car there since otherwise we might have had to park half an hour's walk away. Getting up to the apartment takes quite a few stairs. It's on the first floor, but there's no lift, and the staircase is narrow, so managing it with a pushchair is tricky.
