MC San José

The staff were friendly everywhere, and the village is small enough to get around on foot. The hotel itself is nicely designed and quiet, a good place to relax. There's a small pool area where I could read or nap, and the breakfast buffet was very good. There was no lunch or dinner service during our stay, but plenty of restaurants nearby. The immediate surroundings aren't much to write home about, though the beach and everything else are an easy walk away. Our room was large enough, with a comfortable big bed, small safe, small fridge, desk, and a terrace overlooking the mountains. Cleanliness was okay but not great. We had ants in the room much of the time and a few dusty spots here and there. No major issue, but a clean freak might not like it.

It's a nice hotel, and our spacious room was near the pool. We arrived in the afternoon and got free coffee and a snack, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was really good too. The bus stop is literally two minutes away, with buses back to Almeria. The room felt a little bare, more like a cabin, and the shower leaked a lot because it only had a half door. The team cleaned it up for us quickly.

We stayed in one of their villas, not the hotel, and it was excellent, fully stocked and super clean. A set of towels was missing, but they brought it over with a smile and an apology just half an hour after we told them. They'd thought through every detail, even leaving masks and hand gel. I'd give them six stars if I could!

We spent four nights here and really enjoyed it. The hotel is decorated with care and has a lovely, picturesque feel. Our Superior Room had its own rooftop terrace, and it was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated too. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful, including with tips on where to go and eat. Nothing to complain about. We'd definitely come again.
