miKasa Agua Amarga & SPA

We had a restful, peaceful stay and will definitely return. The hotel has beautiful decor, plus a lovely garden and pool area with a jacuzzi. Breakfast was superb, with lots of fresh fruit, and was served mainly in the garden. After dark, candles and tea lights made the place feel very romantic. Our ground floor room worked well with our mobility issues, with just two or three steps up. There’s no lift, so it wouldn’t suit someone who is completely disabled. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had a walk in shower and the usual amenities. Anna and Angelina were friendly and helpful, and spoke English. The bar has a wide selection of drinks on a help yourself basis, with an honesty bill to sign. There are no evening meals, but plenty of restaurants and bars are an easy walk away. The restaurant next door was closed during our visit, probably because of the Covid pandemic situation. We brought a wheelchair and mobility scooter, and the beach and usual seaside amenities, including shops and bars, were about 5 to 10 minutes away. We also used the hotel’s excellent spa across the road. A special offer meant access was free during our stay, though it normally costs a little extra. The spa is down a long flight of stairs, but staff kindly let us in at street level through a garage side entrance.

The staff were pleasant, very helpful and spoke English. Everything was very clean, the communal areas were stylish, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, with a wide choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cooked food, pastries and more. We’d booked for a relaxing break, so it was disappointing that the jacuzzi couldn’t be used for one of our three days. It had been refilled and never heated up. We were also unhappy to find out only after arriving that the spa was closed during the week because there weren’t enough guests. We booked through Booking.com, which hadn’t told us. It’s cheaper to book direct.

miKasa was a special place to stay, with beautiful, peaceful surroundings, two saltwater pools and a hot tub. Candles in the common area made a nice touch in the evenings. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was a lovely surprise: fresh fruit, homemade cheesespread, gluten free bread for those who need it, and a nice selection of chocolates. The downsides for us were the very intermittent WiFi, which made a private business call impossible, and having to sit in a working jacuzzi tub to take a shower.

It was a perfect long weekend for my friends and me, with three nights at the hotel last week. The place is cute, very clean, and the breakfast was perfect. The service was lovely, especially the owner, who prepared a little basket of water and snacks for us to take to the wonderful hidden beaches. Definitely a stay to repeat.
