Noja gets expensive in July and August, and plenty of hotels and apartments ask for a minimum stay of 4-7 nights. Montemar is more flexible, with free parking, a nice pool, spotless rooms and a great location. It is pricey for a two-star hotel, though. There’s no air conditioning, but outside a heatwave I don’t think you really need it.

The room was modest, reasonably clean and close to the beach. Getting there was the problem. We’d booked ahead and clearly said we’d arrive late, but the hotel called while I was driving and I couldn’t answer. When we arrived, the man there yelled at us, furious that we hadn’t given an estimated arrival time, even though we had. He wouldn’t let us explain. I’ve never had an experience like that, and we nearly left.

The triple room was fine for what it was, and the price felt fair. It’s a bit of a walk, though not too far. Having a pool and billiards is great, but the bar wasn’t open. The service was excellent.

A quiet place with a clean room close to the beach, which is just what I wanted. There’s only a fan, no air conditioning. Thanks.
